In order to promote an improvement in the energy performance of the agrifood industries, a computational tool was developed that allows an analysis of the thermal and electrical loads of cold rooms, based on the different characteristics of these, such as surface materials, products, lighting, personnel and forklifts entering the chambers, defrosting process, among others. The results obtained from the practical application of this tool prove its reliability in the analysis of the main factors that affect energy consumption.
