The 5S methodology helps companies to improve their level of organization by reducing wasted resources and space, with the goal of increasing operational efficiency. This objective is achieved through simple measures such as the proper organization and organization of workplaces and the materials used in them. In addition to increasing efficiency, this methodology also turns workplaces safer. The 5S tool developed monitors, in companies in the agrifood sector, the performance and compliance with the 5S rules in the analysis of good practices in hygiene, safety and health at work. Through simple answers (yes/no/ not applicable), performance is quantified using a score from 0 to 20. This score can be used to assess the current state and the continuous improvement procedures.
